Stephanie Tangard ’14
Alumnae Association Board of Directors
Stephanie Tangard (nee Annessi) is a Program Manager at Werfen, a specialized diagnostics medical device company located in Bedford, MA. She is currently managing software development and product integration for a new in-vitro diagnostics medical device program. She graduated from Smith with a B.S. in Engineering and spent eight years working as a Systems Engineer developing new medical devices and aircraft-based radar systems prior to her recent transition to Program Management.
Stephanie is passionate about giving back to Smith, and to the Picker Engineering Program, in particular. She believes this program had a major impact on the person and engineer she is today. Since 2018, she has served as a member of the Picker Engineering Program Alumnae Council, where she shares real-world experiences of working in the industry and helps shape and improve the engineering program and curriculum. This is a position she is incredibly enthusiastic to hold. She also mentors current engineering students by sharing her experiences, answering questions, and giving advice. This is something she finds very rewarding. Several years ago she established her current employer as a Senior Design Clinic sponsor for the engineering program to provide students with more opportunities to work on real-world medical device projects. While at Smith, she served as the Secretary of the Smith College Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
Stephanie deeply understands the impact of Smith's alums on the current and future states of the College. She looks forward to serving in this role to increase engagement with and diversity and inclusion of the alum network.
Stephanie lives in Groton, MA with her husband and two cats.
