Biography
Casey Anne Brimmer (they/them pronouns), is a Western MA native with a bachelor of arts degree in ethnic & gender studies from Westfield State University, and a master of arts in both women’s & gender studies and communication studies from University of Northern Iowa. Casey Anne is currently pursuing their doctoral degree in interdisciplinary humanities at the Alliance for Social Political Ethical and Cultural Thought (ASPECT) from Virginia Tech. Casey Anne is currently using community theorizing and autoethnography to develop a pedagogy of the full self which they already implement in their teaching today. When not at school learning or teaching, Casey Anne enjoys creatively utilizing a bountiful array of mediums including paint, photography, glass, and digital drawing programs. They live with their best friend, a border collie mix named Archie, in Southwest Virginia.
