Alyssa Bossenger
Instructor in Precollege Programs for Women, Gender & Representation
Biography
Alyssa Bossenger holds a B.A. in gender studies and an M.A. in communication and culture, and now she's splitting the difference and pursuing a dual Ph.D. in gender studies and communication and culture at Indiana University. Her in-progress dissertation uses ethnographic methods to study how adolescents learn about sex and develop sexual identities and practices, particularly in relation to digital media. She is interested in the ways that sexuality can be a tool either for upholding intersecting systems of power like race, gender, and class or for resisting those same systems.
